PERTH – TESTA Rossa mare Ortensia is aiming to break a sequence of bad luck when she tackles Saturday’s $1 million Railway Stakes – G1 at Ascot.

The Mornington trained mare has been held up in each of her two most recent runs beginning with a one length fourth to Apache Cat in the Moir Stakes.

Ortensia was desperately unlucky not to have taken out the Herald Sun on Melbourne Cup day when 0.5L runner-up behind Strawberry Field.

A win on Saturday would see Ortensia’s earnings race past the million dollar mark and capture a well earned Group One win.
Her only other attempt at a major resulted in a 1.3L third in the QTC Stradbroke Handicap in June.
