CHAMPION mare Typhoon Tracy has become only the third mare in nearly half a century to win the Group One MRC Futurity Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield.

The daughter of former Vinery Stud foundation sire Red Ransom had no trouble adding today’s feature to her C.F Orr win from last start cruising to a comfortable 2 3/4 lengths win.

Typhoon Tracy has won nine times, four at Group One level, from her 12 career starts with earnings of over $1.7 million.

Trainer Peter Moody confirmed that the mare would now travel to Sydney for the autumn in search of a second consecutive Coolmore Classic among other riches.

“Vinery extends it’s congratulations to John and Fumai Hutchins who bred and own Typhoon Tracy,” Vinery’s Adam White said.

“Her dam, Tracy’s Element, was foaled at Vinery and is a permanent boarder here and we are proud to have her on the farm.”
