STAKESWINNING Husson filly The Huntress is aiming to stake her claim to next month’s Group 1 MRC One Thousand Guineas when she lines-up in the Group 2 Guineas Prelude (1400m) at Caulfield on Saturday.

The Michael Kent trained 3YO won her first two starts including the Listed MRC Catanach’s Stakes (1200m) at the Heath before finishing third in the National Stakes in Adelaide behind More Than Ready filly Vici Veloce who will also take part in tomorrow’s Prelude.

The Huntress is part of the unbeaten champion Husson’s second local crop.

His first included the flashy chestnut Peron who sparkled during the Brisbane winter and returned with an outstanding second in last weekend’s star studded Sheraco Stakes at Rosehill Gardens.
