CHAMPION USA Sire and Dubelo relation Tapit sired his first Australian winner on September 13 when the well-bred colt Derrymore triumphed at Geelong.

The David Hayes-trained 3YO is the first foal of his dam, Dontwaltzme, who is herself a grand-daughter of Preakness and Belmont Stakes winner Afleet.

He is also from the immediate family as El Prado son, Borrego, whose Grade 1 wins include the Jockey Club Gold Cup. Del Mar Pacific Classic Stakes.

Tapit, stands at Gainesway Farm in Kentucky for a fee of US$125,000.

He has sired 41 stakeswinners from nine crops of racing age with progeny earnings of more than $50 million.

Tapit andd Vinery resident Dubleo are extremely closely aligned given that their dams, Secret Red (by Secretariat) and Tap Your Heels (Unbridled) are siblings.

Dubleo is maintaining his usual high output of winners to runners and is currently represented by the exciting Hot Hit who has win 3 of his 4 career starts including with margins of 7.3-lens and 5.8-lens.
