MOSSMAN’S outstanding run of success, particularly with his juveniles, has lost none of it’s momentum in light of Novocastrian filly Parriwi win in today’s Listed BRC Lancaster Stakes (1200m) at Eagle Farm.  Parriwi was one leg of a two state Stakes double for Mossman with Love Conquers All saluting at Randwick, whilst Lees produced another Mossman 2yo, Next The Universe, to score on debut at his home track of Newcastle.

The Kris Lees-trained juvenile has now won four of her six starts and thoroughly earned her first black-type success.

“She’s a nice filly and is very tough,” Lees said.

“She got a bit hot when she paraded before the race so I’ll spell her now and bring her back for Melbourne.  I think she’ll run 1600 metres and might measure up to some of the better fillies races towards the end of the spring.”

Parriwi is Mossman’s fifth stakeswinner this season and one of 10 individual 2YO winners in that time including five separate stakes performers.

OPTIMISTCALLY named Mossman filly Next The Universe chalked up another win for the revered Denise’s Joy dynasty with a surprise win in today’s NJC Volvo Commercial Vehicles Handicap (900m) at Newcastle.

The Kris Lees-trained filly was unloved by punters but made light of her $21 quote sailing down the middle of the track to score going away.

Owned and bred by Gerry Harvey, Next The Universe is out of Now The World, a Flying Spur three-quarter-sister to his VATC Blue Diamond Preview – G3 winning filly, World Peace.

This fillies’ second dam is Light Up The World who wore Harvey’s ubiquitous blue and white silks to victory in the AJC Challenge Stakes – G2 and STC Premiere Stakes – G3 as well as the STC Queen of the Turf – G3.   Other members of this incredible family include Thorn Park, Bentley Biscuit, Tuesday Joy, More Joyous, Sunday Joy et al.

Next The Universe was Mossman’s 10th individual 2YO winner this season.
