MOSSMAN sired his ninth individual 2YO winner for the season when promising gelding Buffering stepped out in style at Doomben on the weekend.

The Robert Heathcote debutante showed his rivals a clean pair of heels leading throughout to win the Russell Daniels Handicap (1110m) by 3/4 of a length.`

`Buffering is a handy horse and he’s won a trial but you can never underestimate how hard it is for a juvenile to win on debut,” Heathcote told the Courier Mail prior to the race.

“You see time and again good horses get beaten on debut and then come out and win by a big margin next time out.

“The form out of the Cavaliered race has been OK and there’s no doubt he’s a better horse this time around.

“He’s only a little fellow but he has ability.”

Buffering’s win was the second inside of the week for Mossman after first starter Mr Mafia’s impressive win at Eagle Farm on Wednesday.
