MOSSMAN sired his eighth individual two-year-old winner for the season this afternoon when debutante Mr Mafia scored a remarkable win at Eagle Farm.

The Leon Morton trained gelding was in a seemingly hopeless position entering the straight yet still managed to prevail.
Mr Mafia started a well supported $2.35 favourite having won all three of his barrier trials in the lead-up to today’s race.

Mr Mafia was purchased for $32,000 at the Magic Millions Summer Session on the Gold Coast in January.
His dam is a daughter of Kentucky Derby winner Thunder Gulch and from the immediate family of STC Silver Slipper winner, Ballybleue.

Mossman will be looking for a unique double this evening when Mister Horse attempts to break his maiden in Hong Kong at his third start.  Brett Prebble will ride the fancied runner for the Man stable in the $625,000 event.

Mister Horse was purchased for $20,000 by Paul Beamish from the Magic Millions Summer Sale on the Gold Coast.
