Australian import Nusrah added another victory for first season trainer Rambo Tse with an impressive debut win in the Class Three over 1050 metres on Friday night’s sand race program, writes Harry Troy.
Ridden by Frenchman Charles Perkins, Nusrah flew the gates to share the lead with another newcomer Sweet Korean (Wilander) before slipping away around the home turn to race away for the easiest of wins.
The Australian-bred four-year-old raced five times in Australia for four second placed efforts around the provincial and country areas of NSW, when prepared by David Vandyke.
From a limited number of the Mossman (Success Express) breed to race in Macau, nearly all have proven themselves in the top bracket as good tough racehorses that can run on just about any surface.
Macau’s best racehorse Wonder Mossman and Master of Puppets have posted some dazzling victories, along with Brave Rhino, a winner of six on the sand and the brilliant newcomer Oh So Simple, who have made the breed much sought after in the enclave.
Nusrah gave Rambo Tse his fourth winner for the new season from only 11 runners to date.
Combined with his three placed efforts, it gives the former jockey a winning strike rate of 36 per cent and a place strike rate of 64 per cent, far and away the best of any trainer in Macau.
Tse at present has only a small team of 13 in his yard but he has bought well for his owners with plenty of quality in his team and still has a couple of nice new horses yet to have reached the racetrack as yet.
