SCONE – That no less than forty five Danehill sire sons have thrown at least one stakeswinner is confirmation of his incredible prepotency.

Likely no other stallion in modern breeding has been able to produce a more consistent stream of stakes winners, most of them in the mirror image of their sire.

One such horse is Bel Danoro, – Vinery Stud’s dual stakeswinner and conqueror of G1 winners, Apache Cat, El Segundo and Perfectly Ready in consecutive starts.

Trained by Lee Freedman, Bel Danoro won his first start by over four lengths prior to clocking 57.5 seconds for the 1000m at Flemington.

Bel Danoro combined speed and determination to win the Listed Aurie’s Star (1200m) and G3 Bobbie Lewis (1200m) at Flemington beating outstanding horses in the process.

”Bel Danoro was very speedy horse, those straight line speed horses have proven to be good stallions,” Freedman noted.

The Hall of Fame trainer has prepared a number of Danehill sons that went on to become outstanding sires, among them Flying Spur, Danzero and Danasinga.

”In Australia, the fast Danehill sons have pretty much been the best.” he said.

Bel Danoro covered his first book of mares in 2007, with some high order matrons among them.

Bel Danoro represents very good value at $5,500 within the market. As a well performed son of champion sire Danehill, he is ideal for those breeders breeding to race or even those that are breeding for a middle market type of sale. We are really excited to see the first lot of foals which are on the way and if they have the same good looks and athleticism as he does, he is in for a good career at stud.
