FANS of American 1980’s sitcoms will be applauding Bjorn Baker’s big team of owners who registered the name Baio for their Myboycharlie 2YO colt.
Baio is a full brother to Adelaide Magic Millions 2YO winner Charles In Charge.
Charles in Charge was a popular American comedy which starred teen hearthrob Scott Baio in the lead.
Baio first came to promincence staring as Fonzie’s nephew in Happy Days.
As for the horse himself, Baio earned himself a trip to Melbourne from tomorrow’s $250,000 Inglis Banner (1000m) after a solid 4th on debut to his Testa Rossa stablemate Unencumbered at Randwick on October 12.
Baio is one of potentially five 2YO’s by Vinery stallions alongside Lockroy (by More Than Ready), Silversands (Dubleo), Good Prince (Casino Prince) and Japanese Slipper, a first-crop daughter of Onemorenomore.
