TESTA Rossa will be credited with his third new three-year-old stakeswinner this season should Novacastrian colt Testarhythm salute in Saturday’s AJC Ming Dynasty Handicap (1400m).
The Darren Smith-trained galloper arrives at headquarters after a 2 1/2-lens third behind subsequent Golden Rose runner-up Squamosa in the Run to the Rose (1300m) on August 14.
“The 1400m around Randwick should suit the horse because looks to have enough gate speed to take up a handy position in running,” Vinery’s Conor Phelan commented.
“Saturday will be his third run this time in and he’s had no problems with the wet tracks in either of those two which might come in handy if the rain arrives.”
Should he be successful in the Ming Dynasty, Testarhythm is set to become the 30th individual stakeswinner for his sire and his third in as many weeks.
“Testa Rossa’s three-year-old are on fire at the moment,” Phelan says,”Panipique beat Crystal Lily in the Listed Quezette and we saw Sistine Angel beat the boys to win the Group 3 McNeil last Saturday.”
