Euro Charline can reverse an unlucky loss at Royal Ascot last year when she lines up in the G2 Duke of Cambridge Stakes (1600m) on Wednesday.

The globe-trotting daughter of Vinery sire Myboycharlie will be ridden for the first time by Frankie Dettori and has been priced at $6 behind even-money favourite Integral.

Euro Charline was checked at a crucial stage when placed in the 2014 G1 Coronation Stakes before transferring Stateside to win the G1 Beverly D Stakes at Arlington.  She was set a huge task when resuming this term in the G1 Dubai Turf but ran a race full of promise to finish fourth behind Solow hinting she could be better than ever this year.

“She seems well and we have been very happy with her last couple of pieces of work,” trainer Marco Botti said.  “This is her first run since Dubai, but it was always her target and she can handle any ground.  I don’t think we could have her in better shape than she is at the moment.

“Integral is a good filly and won this race last year but Euro Charline has never disappointed us and I think it should be a good match.  The straight mile suits and we couldn’t have asked for a better jockey than Frankie at Ascot.”

Peggy Jean is another Myboycharlie filly with an important rider change leading up to the G1 Tatts Tiara (1400m) at the Gold Coast this Saturday.

Trainers Peter and Paul Snowden have booked Zac Purton after the Caulfield Cup winning jockey was granted leave to stay in Australia by the Hong Kong Jockey Club.

Peggy Jean won the G1 ATC Sires’ Produce Stakes last year and she was trapped deep when unplaced behind Mohave in the LR Queensland Day Plate (1200m) at Doomben on May 30.

The Snowdens have also accepted with Dublin Lass and Rose Of Choice in the last Group 1 of the season in Australia.  “I’m probably leaning slightly towards Peggy Jean,” Peter Snowden said.  “Her first-up run was as good as it could have been from the outside gate.  She got posted wide and just covered way too much ground.”

Peggy Jean posted one of Tuesday’s best gallops at the Gold Coast.  “She is a very good track worker and was out there to do a bit of work,” Snowden said.  “She needed a good blow out to top her off for Saturday.”

Myboycharlie will stand for an $11,000 (inc GST) service fee at Vinery this year.
