More Than Ready colt Ready To Attack has charged home from 10 lengths off the pace to win the G3 Langerman (1500m) at Kenilworth in South Africa.
Ready To Attack was allowed to go out at $13 after unplaced efforts over sprint trips at his first two starts in the Cape. He belied that quote bursting through along the rails to win running away by almost two lengths from Lord Marshal (Horse Chestnut) and Macduff (Street Cry) on Saturday.
Justin Snaith trains him for leading owners Markus Jooste and Hussain Adams. Snaith and Adams won the G1 Queen’s Plate with More Than Ready colt Gimmethegreenlight in 2012.
Vinery champion More Than Ready has now sired 144 stakes winners and this latest is from G1 NZ Stakes winner Gaze (Cape Cross). Ready To Attack’s dam also won the G3 Doomben Roses and was runner-up in Cinque Cento’s G1 Doomben Cup.
Ready To Attack was a $200,000 buy for agent James Bester at the 2014 Inglis Easter yearling sale and joins Langerman luminaries like South African Horse of the Year Variety Club and champion colt Act Of War.
He will return for a Cape classic campaign that proved so successful for Gimmethegreenlight.
