South African filly Entisaar (Aus) has added her name to More Than Ready’s Group 1 roll-call with a stunning victory in the Allan Robertson Championship (G1, 1200m) at Scottsville.
Entisaar was easy in the market at $7 behind short-priced stablemate Shaama (Redoute’s Choice) but she put the Group 1 to bed with a brilliant turn of acceleration on Saturday. “Before the race I would have told you that there was very little between the two fillies,” trainer Mike De Kock said. “Entisaar was baulked at the start and that suited her well.”
Entisaar (2f More Than Ready – Purrpurrlena by Catbird) is the 16th individual Group 1 winner for Vinery Stud’s champion stallion. She had been named Champion 2YO Filly at the 2015 Highveld Awards last week after victories in the LR Ruffian Stakes and G2 SA Fillies Nursery at Turffontein. Her only other start was also at Stake level, where she was second in the Pretty Polly Stakes (G3, 1100m).

South African racegoers may have seen the last of Entisaar – De Kock intimated she will now join his troupe of international gallopers even though there are races like the G1 Golden Slipper (1400m) and G2 Debutante Stakes (1200m) on the horizon at Greyville.
Entisaar was bred by Vinery partner Alan Green and made $300,000 at the 2014 Inglis Easter yearling sale. She is raced by Sheikh Hamdan and is the first foal for Purrpurrlena who won four races in Sydney and was also runner-up in a G3 Newcastle Newmarket.
Purrpurrlena has a yearling filly by More Than Ready, a colt on the ground by Congrats and she was bred to All Too Hard last year.
Vinery will stand More Than Ready (USA) for a $66,000 (inc GST) service fee in 2015.
