BUYERS gave a collective `tres bien’ to the progeny of Vinery Stud resident Myboycharlie that arrived at the prestigious Arqana Sale in France this week.
Competition for yearlings by the former champion French 2YO Colt was intense with all four yearlings that were offered finding willing buyers.
The quartet sold for an average of 57,000 euros which was almost eight times the stallion’s service fee while at the English National Stud.
The highest priced among the four was 85,000 euros spent of a filly out of the mare Chicasaw.
“Myboycharlie’s best career win was in France so the local buyers would know him well,” Vinery’s Conor Phelan began, ”This is a very pleasing extension of the way that the Myboychalrie’s sold in Australia.”
“At the Magic Millions Sale in January, they sold for up to $180,000 and averaged around eight and a half times his corresponding service fee for his first season.”
Best of all, says Phelan, is that the stallion’s progeny have landed in a host of leading stables including Gai Waterhouse, Peter Moody, David Payne, Anthony Freedman, David Hayes, Cliff Brown, Gerald Ryan, Mick Price, etc.
