BREEDERS’ Cup winner Pluck met with unanimous approval of breeders when he made his public debut at Vinery Stud’s annual Stallion Parade in Scone last week will cover a full book of mare’s.

The son of Vinery’s `team captain’ More Than Ready was one of nine stallions on the roster that strode the runway, the only absence being Big Brown who was unable to shuttle this spring due to a minor leg injury but will return in 2013 to much fan fare after yet another 2yo winner this week.

Pluck staged one of the most unforgettable wins in any Breeders’ Cup event on record when overcoming seemingly impossible obstacles to win the Juvenile Division in 2011 in the most dramatic fashion.

Pluck’s first three dams are all stakeswinners beginning with Secret Heart who also placed in four Group 1 races in South Africa.

“Pluck was very well received at our open days by breeders, everybody can see the quality he has,” Vinery’s Adam White said.

“He had quite a long trip over here doing his quarantine in New Zealand, however he has settled in well and just looks fantastic at the moment”.

“As a result Pluck is now fully booked for his first season”.

“He has proven to be a very affordable to a wide range of breeders and the quality of mares he is going to receive is excellent, many stakes winners amongst them,” he added.

Another of the so-called newcomers to Vinery, former USA Champion First Season Sire, Congrats provided another highlight for the large crowd.

A son of A.P Indy, Congrats is one of the most promising young stallions in the USA with 22 stakes horses including three individual Grade 1 winners.

In fact, first crop daughter Turbulent Descent collected her fourth major on the eve of the parade when she took out the $500,000 Ballerina Stakes at Saratoga.

Congrats oldest progeny in Australia are foals and reported to be of a very high standard.

“We were always confident that a horse like Congrats was going to produce good quality foals,” says White.

“We showed a couple of them at our open day and they impressed everybody that was in attendance.

“Congrats has always been popular ever since we announced he was coming out last season. He has attracted another full book of mares again this season.”
