An outstanding book of mares awaits former Champion 2YO Colt Myboycharlie at Vinery Stud for his first season at stud. The Prix Morny – G1 winner arrived at Scone earlier this month and has settled in to his new surrounds.
“He has had a few weeks here now and he has gained back the weight they normally loose during the long trip.” bloodstock manager Adam White said.
“We are really happy with him as an individual, he is a well balanced horse and athletic, you can see how he would have been such a fast horse. He’s a strong and precocious horse who should throw stock suited to Australian conditions.”
That is clearly a view shared by a large number of breeders who have ensured Myboycharlie is afforded the best possible introductory season. Among those in line to visit the Danehill grandson are:
Translate
TRANSLATE – She won VRC Matron Stakes – G3 at Flemington and was runner-up behind Divine Madonna in the G1 Myer Classic there. The David Hayes-trained mare was also second in the AJC Emancipation Stakes – G2 and retired with earnings of close to $500,000.
Queen of Queens
QUEEN OF QUEENS – Won five of her 11 starts including the 2008 SAJC South Australian Oaks G3. She travelled to Sydney two weeks after and finished 4th in the AJC Oaks – G1. Trained by Mick Price at Caulfield, Queen Of Queens is G1 placed.
COME FLY WITH ME – More Than Ready mare who won the SAJC Schweppervescence Stakes – L. Her grand-dam is Dinky Flyer whose 9 wins include the AJC Queen Elizabeth Stakes – G1 and the Villiers – G3.
NICE DANCING – Dam of six winners including G3 Vanity S – G3 winner Musidor & SP’ed Outsourcing (2d Hollywood Bold Reasoning S – L) and Etruscan King (2. Curragh Tyros S – L). From the family of Encosta de Lago and Flying Spur.
MONTELIMAR – Stakes-placed Fusaichi Pegasus half-sister to outstanding 2YO and Widden Stakes winner Superfly.
COZY LADY (USA) – Dam of SW’ing USA two-year-old D.J. Lightning. A daughter of Kentucky Derby winner Grindstone.
PRINCESS MEADOWLAK (USA) – Danzig mare and dam of successive USA SW’ers Successfully Sweet & Princess Sweet.
To these add three USA stakes winning mares by More Than Ready, Royal Academy and Belong To Me.
We are gratified and encouraged that breeders are supporting Myboycharlie in his first season here with such outstanding broodmares. His book is shaping up as a combination of proven mares, stakes winning fillies and mares off the track and a number of imported mares or those with internationally recognizable families.
