SYDNEY – It took a little over sixty seconds for owner/breeders Peter and Wendy Moran to unearth another potential star racehorse and future sire when Excites’s half-brother Tickets won the Canonbury Stakes at Randwick today.

Tickets (by Redoute’s Choice) was having his first start and despite being back and wide for the most part, class prevailed in the end.

”That was unexpected, he was only 85 percent fit but he showed he’s a real natural athlete today,” trainer John O’Shea said.

Tickets’ pre-post Golden Slipper quote was slashed from $61 into $17 after the win.

Last years’ Canonbury Stakes was won by Sebring.

Tickets obvious ability keep intact his dam Staging’s remarkable output of superior colts.

Her only other two males are Group 1 winner Excites (pictured), who stands at Vinery, and Duporth whose wins include the Golden Rose Group 2 and San Domenico Stakes Group 3
