FAVOURITE IS READY, MORE THAN READY

UNTAPPED More Than Ready colt Raceway will tighten his grip on Golden Slipper favouritism is he can take out tomorrow’s Listed ATC Canonbury Stakes (1100m) at Warwick Farm.

The Gai Waterhouse trained colt opened his career with a dazzling four length win at the venue over 1000m on January 7 and was immediately installed at the the top of Slipper betting.
Raceway is bred on the exact same More Than Ready/Flying Spur cross as Sebring who won the 2008 Golden Slipper two starts after his win in the Canonbury.

While Raceway is already considered a leading Slipper fancy, connections of promising More Than Ready filly Brave Soul are hoping to stake their claim to the world’s richest two-year-old race when she lines up in the Listed ATC Widden Stakes (1100m) earlier in the day.
Brave Soul, now with Joe Pride, finished third at her one and only start to date at Rosehill behind Fundido when trained by John O’Shea.

More Than Ready has sired 5 individual two-year-old winners so far this year including the VRC Maribyrnong Trial winner Cambiaso and Blue Diamond favourite Samaready.

The Vinery stallion is heavily represented in major races around Australia this weekend beginning with 2009 Golden Slipper winner, Phelan Ready, who shapes up against Black Caviar in the Lightning Stakes while the Robert Hickmott trained colt Toned tackles the Group 3 VRC C.S. Hayes Stakes (1410m) forty minutes earlier.
Meanwhile in Adelaide, up and coming stayer Bertucci goes in search for his fourth straight win when he contests the Listed SAJC Birthday Cup (2028m) in a field which includes the well performed Testa Rossa mare There’s Only One.

”More Than Ready has sired 93 individual stakeswinners around the globe and has the chance to add three more if Raceway, Brave Soul and Bertucci can win,” says Vinery’s Conor Phelan.
