EXCITES two-year-old Excites Zelady kicked start his career in the best possible way with a polished 0.8-lens win at Morphettville Park in Adelaide on Saturday.
Trained locally by Chris Bieg, the bay gelding closed off to fast for his rivals to take out the 1000m Sportingbet Plate at his first start in a race.
Excites Zelady was first bought as a weanling for $19,000 before being re-sold in Adelaide at the Magic Millions where Bieg picked up for $27,000.
Today’s win earned connections $21,300 with the obvious promise of more to come.
Excites Zelady is his sires’ 26th winner alongside stakeswinner Flag Officer and the handy Amber’s Crown, Avadale, Black Jag, Greenedge, Scream Machine and the vastly talented Victorian Bombsquad.
