GROUP 1 winning two-year-old Mossman was one of two Vinery based stallions to sire a winner on Magic Millions day at the Gold Coast.

Less than an hour before Testa Rossa son Whisperossa took out the final event on the card, Group One placed Triple Elegance surged to victory in the Magic Millions Cup (1400m).

It was the eighth career win for the Chris Waller trained gelding whose previous victories had included the Group 3 Liverpool City Cup (1300m).

Triple Elegance also managed to finish a close third in the Group 1 George Ryder Stakes behind stablemate Rangirangdoo in 2011.

He returned in the spring to place behind Sincero and Ilovethiscity in the George Main Stakes Gr.1.

Triple Elegance has so far won over three quarters of a million dollars, earning $782,730 thus far.

Mossman was also at the fore in Melbourne yesterday when the Mick Kent trained Backbone took out the VRC Straight Draw Handicap (1800m) at Flemington.

Backbone has raced 11 times for 4 wins and 2 seconds and has earnings of $155,100.
