VINERY Stud sire Excites has a chance to shine on the One Thousand Guineas program when the well bred local Sistine Demon makes his debut in the opening race on the card.

Sistine Demon is a three-year-old from Excites first-crop and a half relation to Testa Rossa’s multiple stakeswinning mare Sistine Angel.

The gelding was bought Sistine Angel’s trainer Andrew Noblet for $150,000 at the 2011 Perth Magic Millions Yearling Sale.

Sistine Demon signalled his readiness for tomorrow’s challenge with a polish win in a Cranbourne 800m barrier trial on October 8.

The chestnut has drawn gate 4 in the nine horse field and has the able services of jockey Craig Williams.

Later in the day Excites may be represented in the Group 1 MRC One Thousand Guineas (1600m) by the Ken Keyes trained Excitus who is second emergency in this year’s capacity field.
