LIGHTLY-RACED filly Tree Fern looks able to progress quickly through the grades after an emphatic win in yesterday’s Boral Maiden Plate (1200m) at Grafton.
The Sue Grills-trained 3YO careered away to win 1.3-lens at only her third career start.
Tree Fern is a daughter of Vinery resident Dubleo and a direct descendent of imported mare Rory’s Rocket (GB) who delivered the 1985 Golden Slipper winner and champion sire, Rory’s Jester.
This is also the family of 2001 Slipper winner, Ha Ha and Saturday’s VRC Australian Guineas hopeful Southern Speed.
Tree Fern is the most recent of a burgeoning list of individual winners sired by Dubleo in Australia from his initial small crops which include star mare Stake winning mare Dubleanny.
