Congrats can cap a very successful year with his first Kentucky bred two year-olds when Top Decile takes on all-comers in the G1 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies (1710m) on Saturday.

The Vinery shuttler was USA Champion first-season sire when based in Florida and he will zoom up the juvenile table if the Klaravich Stables filly is successful in the $2 million event at Santa Anita.

Top Decile will be facing the starter for just the third time after a debut win at Saratoga and a Group 1 second to British raider Peace and War in the Alcibiades Stakes at Keeneland.

“We were confident she would run well last time,” trainer Al Stall said.  “Everything went well except she didn’t break for some unknown reason.  She’s usually very good out of the gates.  If she’s on her toes at Santa Anita, she might lay closer and sit on a really good pace.

“We feel she will be very competitive.  It was a tough race in the slop at Keeneland and I was worried how she would look after the race.  But she came right out of it like it was nothing and that made me feel good.”

Top Decile is raced by Klaravich Stables owner Seth Klarman.  He operates one of the most successful hedge fund companies in the world and paid $110,000 for the Congrats filly at the 2013 Keeneland September yearling sale.
