THE typically tough Dubleo gelding, Double Five bagged a hat-trick of wins when taking out the Ranvet Handicap (1300m) at Scone today.

Trained locally by Rodney Ollerton, Double Five was coming off victories at Tamworth and Scone during September, one of those by 3.3-lens.

The five-year-old won comfortably again in todays Open Hcp and has now won 5 times with 6 placings from his 20 starts.

Double Five is one of a growing number of 72 winners in Australia sired by Southern Halo sire, Dubleo.

The stallion has been delivering winners on an incredibly frequent basis including two in three days last week led by Canterbury winner, Tree Fern.

Meanwhile, high class Mornington mare Koonoomoo is striving to send her earnings through the $250,000 mark when she contests BC3 Black Pearl at Geelong on Cup day tomorrow.

The Simon Vercoe trained five-year-old earned black-type when she placed second in the Sportingbet Series Final (1200m) at Caulfield last start.
