TWO recent stakeswinners, one of them a Group 1 winner in Hong Kong, may be enough to help the lone Onemorenomore yearling at Karaka eclipse the stallion’s personal 2013 Magic Millions saletopper.

Currently, the highest price paid for a Onemorenomore yearling is set at $200,000, the same amount as one of his weanlings made when it topped the Magic Millions National Sale in 2012.
With 20 yearlings heding to Easter, there will be just one of the Red Ransom son’s offspring sold at Karaka this year, namely lot 364 – a filly from the Flying Spur stakeswinner Spurcent.

A winner of the time-honoured AJC Gimcrack Stakes on debut, Spurcent is a half-sister to Hussonet son and Karaka graduate Glorious Days, who beat two-time HK Horse of the Year Ambitious Dragon in the Group 1 Steward’s Cup (1600m) at Sha Tin on Sunday night.

As well as him, Spurcent is also a three-quarter-sister to the dam of All Legal who won last month’s Group 2 ATC Villiers Stakes (1600m) in Sydney.

Spurcent’s Onemorenomore filly is being offered on account of the historic Haunui Farm at Karaka, whose draft also includes yearlings by Redoute’s Choice, High Chaparral, Pins and Zabeel.
“I was at the Farm last week and they’ve had plenty of traffic through there so the inspections have been very good and she’s been well received,” says NZ-based bloodstock agent Michael Wallace.
“This filly speaks for herself as a type and has a lot of depth in her pedigree.”

Wallace purchased the filly on behalf of clients for $105,000 at the 2012 Magic Millions National Weanling Sale.
Onemorenomore did his racing in Australia but his family is well known across the Tasman, beginning with his illustrious father and dam, Palia, who won a Listed race in New Zealand before adding the Group 2 Emancipation to her swag of wins.
“Red Ransom has been a long proven stallion throughout the world and there is no reason why that shouldn’t continue through his sire sons.
“And Onemorenomore’s halfbrother Dr Green was as fast a two-year-old as we’ve seen in new Zealand, he was very, very quick,” Wallace recalled.
Onemorenomore is a close relative of Group 1 miler Casino Prince, who was Champion First Season Sire in 2011/12 and is current Leading Second Crop Sire in Australia.
His best horse to date is Caulfield Guineas winner and Cox Plate runner-up All Too Hard.
