TESTA Rossa gelding Testarhythm honoured the living memory of his illustrious paternal half-sister Ortensia with a stirring win in the race that bears her name and signals a close to the two standalone Scone Cup carnival.

Saturday’s win was the second feature sprint win on Testarhythm’s C.V. alongside the Listed Takeover Target STakes (1300m) from the summer of 2013.

Testarhythm has now won a total of 6 races with 5 placings from his 20 starts with earnings on $408,450.

The Novocastrain was having his first start in 6 months against a crack field in this year’s Ortensia Stakes but was presented in fabulous shape by his trainer Darren Smith.

Testarhythm tracked the predictable hot speed in the 1100m sprint gathering in those in front of him passing the furlong pole, before streaking away from the others to win impressively.
The 6YO is one of 50 global stakeswinner and among 550 individual winners sired by Testa Rossa at a strike-rate of better than 70 percent.

Testarhythm’s triumph capped off a good day for Vinery based sires who bookended the second-day ushered in by a win in the opening race to Excites son Black Jag.
