“Top Ten” Testa Rossa featured heavily in yesterday’s time-honoured Fernhill Handicap when Cocky Raider and Kembla visitor Continental Flyer chased the winner home.

Punters rallied behind the David Payne-trained Cocky Raider ($4.20) after his excellent second in the T.L. Baillieu Stakes behind the promising galloper, Do You Think.

Continental Flyer ($13) was also a graduate of the Baillieu finishing off the race from well back to clock in under five lengths from the winner.

”They both ran very well in the Fernhill, particularly Cocky Raider who was forced to come wide from before the turn which may have cost him a bit at the finish, but it was a great run,” Vinery’s Conor Phelan said.

”Continental Flyer is a really well bred horse, his grand-dam Royal Tiara won the Auckland Cup, so it’s fair to say on pedigree and from how he races, he might be a Derby colt.”

Following on from Pane In The Glass’ success we’ve seen some great results from Testa Rossa juveniles this year and with more Hunter Valley crops to come it looks more and more likely this early success is to continue.
