SIX-TIMES Group 1 winner Testa Rossa took his tally of individual stakeswinners to 53 when the Chris Waller trained Heart Testa beat a high quality field in the Group 3 ATC Southern Cross Stakes (1200m) at Randwick on Saturday.

The five-year-old gelding raced on the pace and without the aid of cover but dug in for a gritty and determined win while posting an impressive 1:09.61s for the 1200m.

Heart Testa’s victory was a fitting reward for his endless consistency which included 7 wins prior to yesterday and a further 7 placings including a succession of stakes-placings in the Starlight Stakes, Razor Sharp Stakes, Eskimo Prince Stakes, Darby Munro Stakes and Hawkesbury Ladies Day Cup.

Heart Testa’s win comes at an opportune time for vendors headed to Oaklands for the upcoming Inglis Premier Yearling Sale with one of the 11 Testa Rossa sons and daughters on offer.

High on most buyer’s wish among the troupe will no doubt be Lot 149, the brother to Group 2 and Group 3 winner Sistine Angel who was also runner-up to All To Hard’s sibling Black Caviar in the Group 1 SAJC Robert Sangster Stakes.

This colt is also a half relation to Excites‘ Group 3 winning son Sistine Demon and well credentialed Myboycharlie miss Artistic Lass who was placed fourth in a Fernhill.
