USA Champion Sire Tapit has had his service fee lifted by more than half as a result of his stunning success both on the racetrack and in the sale ring.
The Gainesway Farm (Kentucky) gun will stand in 2012 at a fee of US$125,000 reflecting the intense demand for his progeny in North America.
Tapit is a grandson of A.P Indy (sire of Vinery resident Congrats) out of stakeswinning half-sister to another Vinery sire in Dubleo who has produced Stakes horses like Dublanny from his first crop and has continued with Stakes horses such as Queenian from his latest.
Tapit has sired the winners of more than US$8.3 million with 13 stakeswinners in 2011 alone including the unbeaten 2YO and recent Breeders’ Cup Juvenile winner, Hansen.
Australian buyers will get a taste of Tapit when Amarina Farm present an outstanding yearling by the stallion out of Dontwaltzme (USA) at the 2012 Magic Millions Yearling sale on the Gold Coast.
The colt, grey like his sire, was foaled on August 10, 2009, and hails from a superb black-type family.
