TESTA Rossa gelding and Saturday’s Inglis Scone Guineas hopeful Speediness has been the subject of substantial offers from Hong Kong.

The Daily Telegraph reports the owners “have shown plenty of faith in their horse after knocking back whopping offers from Hong Kong”

Colin Scott’s lightly-raced galloper attracted attention with his last start 2nd behind Pimpala Secret in the Listed Hawkesbury Guineas (1400m) a fortnight ago “but he was already on the radar of several big-spending clients in Asia”.

“After his win at Sandown, Craig Williams (jockey) was in Hong Kong & got asked if there were any up-and-coming horses he had ridden that he thought would be suitable for Hong Kong. We have had a few offers, the 1st around $650,000 & a few higher than that. The guys that are in the horse aren’t millionaires, but they are having a ball & I said to them, ‘You’re not just selling the horse, you’re selling the ride we’re on’.

They decided they wanted to keep the horse & here we are.” Speediness is currently 2nd favourite (behond Sincero) for the Scone Guineas.
