WinStar Farm has acquired a 50% share in More Than Ready’s latest Group 1 winner Daredevil.
The Todd Pletcher trained colt is prepping for the G1 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile at Santa Anita next Saturday following a last-start victory in the G1 Champagne Stakes at Belmont Park.
Daredevil (2c More Than Ready – Chasethewildwind by Forty Niner) was bred in Kentucky and was purchased by Let’s Go Stable for $260,000 at the 2013 Keeneland September sale. He’s a half-brother to 2008 Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile winner Albertus Maximus.
More The Ready shuttles to Vinery from WinStar Farm as does champion sire Congrats.
“We have been patiently looking for a top son of More Than Ready and we believe Daredevil is the most exciting one to come along yet,” WinStar president Elliott Walden said. “His 107 Beyer winning the Champagne in hand makes him the fastest two year-old colt since Uncle Mo.
“I love the fact Todd picked him out as a yearling; nobody knows More Than Ready better. I can’t wait to eventually add him to our stallion roster after he finishes racing.”
Congrats is also in the mix for the Breeders’ Cup next weekend with Pangburn & Top Decile. Top Decile was runner-up in the G1 Alcibiades Stakes at Keeneland on October 3 and is one of the top contenders for the BC Juvenile Fillies.
