PERFECTLY Ready gelding Isle Be Ready served notice that he could be a dark horse when the better three-year-old races roll around this spring after a break through win at Kensington during the week.

The Bede Murray trained galloper debuted with an eye-catching second to boom colt Smart Missile in the time honoured Breeders’ Plate (1000m) at headquarters in October 2010 before adding minor placings at Canterbury and Kensington after that.

Already Stakes placed, his win on Wednesday suggests that he has come bigger and better which is a positive sign for the on-going prospects of his sire Perfectly Ready who was crowned New Zealand’s Champion First Season Sire in 2010/11.

“Perfectly Ready was a very good two-year-old himself winning a Blue Diamond Prelude and placing in the Blue Diamond Stakes,” says Vinery’s Adam White,”but it’s worth noting that he trained on to win his Group 1 when he was four-years-old.
“His own sire More Than Ready has sired stakeswinners aged up to seven-years-old and up to 2400m so the proof is there that the breed can and do train on beyond their customary precocious two-year-old preparation.”

Isle Be Ready is a superbly bred individual being out of a half-sister to Golden Slipper winner and outstanding sire Canny Lad and carries with him an explosive 3 X 3 double cross of Danehill.
