SMART local Ronn’s Moss is in line to become Mossman’s 31st stakeswinner when he tackles the Listed MRC Crown Lager Stakes (1400m) on the Caulfield Cup day under-card.

The chestnut 3YO boasts a fine record of 4s 1-1-1 with his only unplaced run coming on debut in the Magic Millions Clockwise Classic at Ballarat last November.

Ronn’s Moss earned his crack at black-type with a comfortable 1.5-lens win when taken across to Adelaide for the SAJC David & Mary Axon-Stokes Maiden (1300m).

Trained by Henry Dwyer for a large team of owners, Ronn’s Moss is bred on the same Mossman/Danehill cross as stakeswinners Racing Eight known as Wonder Mossman in Macau, Absalon, Hoofit, Under The Eiffel and Agister.

Ronn’s Moss is a son of Irish import Basamaat whose previous foals include Singapore’s 2011 Champion 2YO, My Big, who claimed the prestigious Aushorse Golden Horseshoe that year.
