MORE Than Ready colt Raceway maintained his position as pre-post favourite to win the 2012 Golden Slipper ahead of paternal half sister Samaready after taking out the Listed ATC Canonbury Stakes (1100m) at Warwick Farm on Saturday.
The Corumbene Stud bred youngster was sent out as the $1.24f after his swashbuckling 4-lens debut win at the venue last month.
While the margin this time was only narrow, trainer Gai Waterhouse was satisfied with the effort signalling that there was plenty of improvement ahead as the Slipper draws nearer.
”We have been a little easy on him since his first start,” she said,”put it this way we have a lot to work with.”
As well as emulating 2008 Slipper hero Sebring’s Canonbury win, Raceway nudged his sire closer to the milestone achievement of 100 individual stakeswinners.
More Than Ready’s current tally is 93.
