Vinery sire Pluck (USA) is on a roll with another two first-crop winners in NSW and Victoria.
His 3yo fillies Plucky Girl (Friday) and Bring Me Luck (Sunday) both looked progressive types winning their maidens at Coff’s Harbour and Warrnambool, respectively.
Bring Me Luck was too strong for her rivals in the Northpoint Liquor Plate (1200m) and the win compensated her connections for an unlucky first-up loss earlier this month.
“She should have won at Geelong,” jockey Jackie Beriman admitted. “Getting back on a big grass track made the difference today. We settled one-out, one-back and she was very impressive.
“Colin (Chandler) has done a great job and I can’t wait to see her get over more ground.”
Bring Me Luck (3f Pluck – Dehere Or Not by Dehere) is raced by owner-breeder Tim Dennis in partnership with Grant Downey. Her dam is a three-quarter sister to G1 Golden Slipper winner Belle Du Jour.
Dennis operated Glenwood Stud in Geelong and he’s also bred feature winners like Peron (Husson) and Koonoomoo (Dubleo) using stallions stationed at Vinery.
“Bring Me Luck will take plenty of improvement out of that win,” Chandler said. “We will keep her racing against 3yo fillies and gradually get her up over longer distances.”
Pluck (More Than Ready) stands for a $9,900 (inc GST) fee at Vinery.
