Darley has designs on the Dubai carnival for its exciting More Than Ready filly Vicennalia.

The Charlie Appleby trained youngster looked every bit the professional on debut in the Pump Technology Stakes (1400m) on debut at Newbury last Thursday.  She also provided Kiwi jockey James McDonald with his first winner in England.

Vicennalia (2f More Than Ready – Silver Reunion by Harlan’s Holiday) raced greenly tucked in behind the early pace before responding to overhaul long-time leader Heroic Heart (Invincible Spirit).

She was a $500,000 buy for Sheikh Mohammed at the 2014 Keeneland September yearling sale and is the second foal of Silver Reunion, a Saratoga stakes winner for owner-breeder Brereton Jones.

More Than Ready continues to grow in stature as a champion sire on the international stage and he added another notch to his list of juvenile winners in the USA on Friday.

His promising filly Un Po Di Vino broke sharply on debut and set an uncontested pace before spurting away by three lengths at Monmouth Park.

Un Po Di Vino (2f More Than Ready – Denim n’ Motion by Unbridled’s Song) hails from the extended family of influential sire Giant’s Causeway and she graduated from the 2015 Ocala March 2YO Sale for $130,000.

More Than Ready has sired 5 Australia-bred 2yo stakes winners this season and tops that table with Exceed And Excel.  He will stand at Vinery for a $66,000 (inc GST) fee this year.
