Onemorenomore improved his winning strike-rate in Hong Kong after Bold Stitch blitzed his rivals at Sha Tin on Sunday.
Onemorenomore has now sired 3 winners from 4 starters in the territory with the fourth runner Lucky Girl, a gelding with Dennis Yip, put the writing on the wall with a last-start placing at Sha Tin on New Year’s Day.
Bold Stitch burst through a gap at the furlong on Saturday and then accelerated to a widening two-length victory in the Nga Tsin Wai Hcp (1400m). The Tony Millard trained sprinter was ridden a superb race by Silvester De Sousa in contrast to apprentice Jack Wong who was suspended after a close second last month.
Bold Stitch is the third recent first-crop winner by Onemorenomore in Hong Kong – Honest Horse scored by four lengths on debut in November and Master Steed followed up with a two-length victory for Caspar Fownes.
Bold Stitch is out of G3 Dane Ripper Stakes winner Countess Bathory (Dracula) and was a $50,000 graduate from the 2013 Magic Millions National yearling sale.
Onemorenomore’s name was also in the frame in Macau when Bunce won on Friday keeping the stallions 100% record there in tact. Bunce had been placed twice before the breakthrough at the third time of asking in The Sheffield (1050m).
Bunce is a younger half-brother to Brisbane stakes winner Better Than Ready and their dam Sally’s World (Agnes World) had a More Than Ready filly sell through Vinery’s draft for $320,000 at the Gold Coast Magic Millions earlier this month.
He’s the third Onemorenomore winner from as many starters in Macau following Good Alloy and So Happy.
Singapore is another successful destination for Onemorenomore in Asia. His first two winners – Excellent One and Genius – were later placed in Group company behind champion colt Super One.
Stock Broker also won at Kranji for trainer Michael Freedman late last year. “He’s no world-beater but can hold his own,” Freedman said. “I wish there were more like him in the backyard.”
In Australia, Onemorenomore sired promising maiden winner Perfect Number at Kembla Grange on Saturday. She is trained by Bjorn Baker and was racing second-up for Hong Kong based owner Gene Tsoi.
Perfect Number started at $41 but won’t be at those fancy odds anytime soon after producing a paralysing finish at the end of 1000 metres. She is the first foal of G1 South Australian Oaks winner Small Minds (Canny Lad) and is one for the black-book over longer journeys.
The next Onemorenomore yearling for sale is another first foal from a classic winner. Gilgai Farm has entered his colt out of G1 Queensland Oaks winner Miss Keepsake (Lot 206) for the Inglis Melbourne Premier Sale on February 29.
