Gilgai Farm owner Rick Jamieson is responsible for breeding Vinery’s Champion 3yo All Too Hard and he bred a very impressive Onemorenomore winner at Mornington on Wednesday.
His homebred filly Alittle Loose won like a horse going places and trainer Mick Kent has mapped out a G1 VRC Oaks mission following her first-up victory in the Evergreen Turf Plate (1600m). “I’ve always had a big opinion of this filly,” Kent said. “She has oodles of stamina and is an exceptionally clean-winded filly with a very good heart-rate recovery.
“We’re looking forward to the VRC Oaks but we don’t want her to give her a taxing spring as she is more of an autumn filly.”
Alittle Loose (3f Onemorenomore – Maloose by Redoute’s Choice) was facing the starter for just the second time after a debut third to The Barrister at Mornington in March. The winner went on to claim the LR Fernhill Hcp at Randwick a fortnight later.
Stand-in rider Craig Williams was very impressed with Alittle Loose who charged home from second-last at the half-mile (in a 14-horse field) to defeat Wichita Woman (High Chaparral) by a half-length.
“Mick was very confident and she won with plenty in hand,” Williams said. “She gave me a lovely staying feeling and it is onwards and upwards for her.”
Onemorenomore sired her from Jamieson’s LR Centaurea Stakes (2000m) winner Maloose and the Redoute’s Choice mare also has a 2yo filly by fellow Vinery resident Husson.
Vinery stands Onemorenomore for a $6,600 (inc gst) service fee and his debutante Alluvion begins her career in the LR Gimcrack Stakes (1000m) at Randwick this Saturday. His stakes winning filly Onemorezeta is also racing first-up in the Pro-Ride Flying (1000m) at Warwick Farm on Monday.
