DUBLEO mare Koonoomoo increased her value to a considerable degree in the wake of her outstanding effort when runner-up in last Saturday’s Sportingbet Series Final (1200m).
Trained at Mornington at Simon Vercoe, the five-year-old mare came from well back in the 16-horse field to finish a half length behind Serene Star and ahead of last start stakeswinners Miss Marx and Detours.
Koonoomoo has now won just over $200,000 with 4 wins and 7 placings from her 20 starts.
Meanwhile, Scone galloper Double Halo will also raise a toast to Dubleo’s first crop when he tackles the South Muswellbrook Cup (1600m) near home tomorrow.
This most capable galloper boasts some incredibly strong form for a race of this kind including a nose second to current VRC Victoria Derby winner It’s A Dundeel when they clashed at Canterbury last month.
