Myboycharlie’s Group 1 winning mare Euro Charline will be covered by Japan superstar Deep Impact in February.
Euro Charline (GB) was purchased by Katsumi & Shunsuke Yoshida for 750,000gns (AUD 1.32 million) at the Tattersalls December Sale this week. The Yoshida family stands Deep Impact at Shadai Farm for a ¥30 million (AUD 355,925) service fee.
“She was a very good racehorse. We raced against her in Dubai and followed her since then,” Shunsuke said. “We like her bloodline very much – we have a lot of Deep Impact blood in Japan and she is an outcross.”
Euro Charline was catalogued as Lot 1848 this week after a career that netted a G1 Beverly D Stakes (1900m) in the USA and LR Valiant Stakes (1600m) at Royal Ascot. The 5yo mare was also placed second at Group 1 level in the Falmouth Stakes (1600m), Lockinge Stakes (1600m) and Dubai Turf (1800m).
High-end breeders will also target Myboycharlie’s 3yo filly Camprock when she goes under the hammer at the Arqana Bloodstock Sale in Deauville that starts on the weekend. She won this year’s G3 Prix Penelope and was runner-up in the G1 Prix Saint-Alary.
Myboycharlie stands at Vinery Stud and there have been 20 locally-bred individual winners this season with G1 Caulfield Cup heroine Jameka the spearhead for overall earnings of $2.64 million.
