BLUE Diamond hopeful The Travelling Man has the potential and talent to rate as his sire Mossman’s best ever two-year-old after his dazzling all the win in today’s Prelude at Caulfield.
While Mossman, a Group 1 winning 2YO himself, has sired a bevy of quality juveniles including Segments, Pure Energy and ex Kiwi now U.S Stakes winner Hoofit. The Travelling Man could be the best Mossman two-year-old so far according to Vinery’s Adam White.
“If he wins the Blue Diamond, no doubt,” says White, “but today’s win puts him right up there. He was super impressive and has that brilliance that all two-year-olds need when the big races come around. You don’t want to be coming from six lengths off the leader in a Blue Diamond.”
The Travelling Man becomes Mossman’s 18th individual stakeswinner and one of 31 stakesperformers alongside the likes of current Mossman star’s Love Conquers All, Buffering, Neeson, Ofcourseican and Under The Eiffel.
The colt is a grandson of the Best Western mare, Glory Girl, who raced with high distinction for trainer Bart Cummings with feature wins in the Tea Rose and Furious Stakes.
