ADELAIDE visitor Stirling Grove gave his local rivals a lesson in pure speed clocking a swift 1:09.37 seconds to win today’s MRC Premier Signs Plate (1200m) on Blue Diamond day at Caulfield.
The son of Mossman jumped quickly from his wide gate but was forced to sit outside the leader for the most part until he as able to assume the lead shortly after rounding the bend.
The 3YO dashed clear passing the 200m setting up a wining break ahead of the fast finishing Utah Saints and Too Deadly in third.
Stirling Grove’s latest triumph takes his overall tally to five wins from 10 starts with three placings and earnings of $285,140.
Stirling Grove was part of Vinery Stud’s 2009 Inglis Melbourne Premier Yearling sale and was purchased by Richard Jolly for $52,500.
