TOUGH as teak Mossman son Buffering is now just one good run away from taking his earnings past the $2m mark after a posting his 10th career win in Friday night’s Group 2 MVRC A.J Moir Stakes (1200m).

Bought for just $22,000, Buffering is owned by a number of former Australia Socceroo stars including Craig Moore and Scott Chipperfield and trained at Eagle Farm by Robert Heathcote.

Buffering’s gritty first-up win over More Than Ready gelding Ready To Rip is due reward for one of this country’s most consistent sprinters.

“He’s wonderful little horse, really wonderful,” Heathcote said.

“Horses like him make us trainers look like we know what we’re doing.”

Buffering was placed in six Group One races last season including seconds in the BRC Stradbroke Handicap (1400m) and Doomben 10,000 (1350m).
