VINERY resident Mossman is in line for a Group 1 double play starting tonight at Moonee Valley when Buffering goes head to head with frequent rival Hay List in the William Reid Stakes (1200m).
Then on Saturday, Ron Quinton’s crack mare Ofcourseican will contest the Coolmore Classic (1500m) at Rosehill Gardens seeking to emulate her Group 1 winning sibling, Gimmethegreenlight (by More Than Ready).
Mossman is heavily represented in Sydney this weekend, he has two chances to upset champion mare More Joyous in the Group 2 Canterbury Stakes namely Love Conquers All and Triple Elegance.
Both horses are proven at this level and will provide stiff competition for the favourite.
Love Conquers All boasts a superb first-up record and excels at his home track while trainer Chris Waller is anticipating a bold showing from multiple stakeswinner and Group 1 performer, Triple Elegance.
“His form last preparation was terrible but he had a low grade infection in his lungs. He seems to have come back well, his first-up run was okay on a wet track and he looks to have improved mentally since then,” Waller said.
“He’ll run a really good race and if he can run in the first five I’d be very happy keeping in mind he ran third in the George Ryder last year.”
