MORE Than Ready fans are in for a treat on Saturday when the Vinery stallion shooting for his third Golden Slipper winner as well glamour mare More Joyous in action once more.
The John O’Shea-trained Elite Falls is rated an $11 chance emulate More Than Ready’s past Slipper heroes Sebring and Phelan Ready.
Elite Falls, a $300,000 Easter yearling, drew barrier 16 at the official draw on Tuesday.
”It doesn’t help but probably doesn’t harm her as much as it would a natural on pacer,” Vinery’s Adam White said.
”She was always likely to go back and if it happened to rain, outside barriers won’t make that much difference. She has had an ideal preparation leading into the race with two seconds over 1100m and a great win the first time she got to 1200m.”
Meanwhile, champion mare More Joyous is a long odds-on favourite to collect her fifth Group One race when she contests the aptly-named Queen of the Turf (1500m) Stakes.
”What else is there to say about More Joyous – she is a champion,” White declared.
Should More Joyous win as expected, it will mean back-to-back winners of the Queen of the Turf which was won last year by Horse of the Year and Red Ransom daughter, Typhoon Tracy.
