MORE Than Ready son Perfectly Ready has regained his lead in the race to become New Zealand’s Champion First Season Sire (2010/11) after providing both the second and third placegetters in today’s Group 2 Matamata Breeders’ Stakes (1200m).
The Murray Baker trained Beejay Belle and local miss Queen Boudicca chased home race winner, Anabandana, in the rich feature pocketing a combined total of $40,000 between them.
Given that Perfectly Ready trialled high profile Danehill son Darci Brahma by a mere $400 leading into this weekend’s round of racing, the former crack sprinter is now well on course to be crowned New Zealand’s King of the kids.
At present, Perfectly Ready is the sire of 16 starts for 5 winners, six placegetters and 5 individual stakes-performers which has been the key to his success so far this season.
