MORE Than Ready yearlings never go out of fashion and that was most certainly the case once again the 2014 Magic Millions Yearling Sale where his progeny topped two of the four sessions.
A grand total of 20-lots by More Than Ready were swapped for a total of $4.5m at an average cost of $225,000.
Boomer Bloodstock established the trend early on day one when they paid $450,000 for Lot 21, a colt out of former gun filly Ringa Ringa Rosie.
The colt is likely to be trained by Sydney’s leading trainer Chris Waller.
Then on day four, newly accredited Warwick Farm trainer Bryce Heys went to $600,000 for a stunningly handsome colt out of Polaway, a stakes-placed daughter of Golden Slipper winner Polar Success.
The colt is also a three-quarter-brother to John O’Shea’s exciting three-year-old colt Polarmore.
“Physically he was as an impressive colt as there was on the sale ground,” Heys said. “I thought he was the best colt in the sale.”
“He’s got the pedigree to back it up. He’s a generation away from a Golden Slipper winner and I bought him with a profile to graduate to that race.”
More Than Ready has sired two Magic Millions 2YO Classic winner so far namely Augusta Proud in 2008 followed by Phelan Ready who went on complete the rare Magic Millions/Golden Slipper double.
