Kiss To Remember (4f Taft Lil Queen by Irish Open), one of 14 stakes winners by former Vinery shuttler Big Brown (Boundary), took the Monroe Handicap (LR, 1 mile) at Gulfstream Park on Saturday.
Jumping from a middle barrier, Kiss To Remember was squeezed out of a leading position early in the race but ridden calmly by jockey Harry Hernandez. The 4yo had to fight for the lead, leaving the rail and going to the outside on the turn. In a dominant performance, she streaked away on the straight to win by a massive six and three-quarter lengths.
The US$15,000 Keeneland September graduate ran out winner over Lemon Point (Lemon Drop Kid) with Quiet Hour (Quiet American) in third. Big Brown stands at Dutchess Views Farm in New York for US$8,500. Click here to view the race replay.
