Bob Peters has unearthed another future stakes winner by Vinery champion More Than Ready.
His homebred filly Perfect Reflection followed a winning debut at Pinjarra last month with a brilliant burst to finish off her rivals in the Westspeed 3yo Hcp (1200m) at Belmont on Wednesday.
Perfect Reflection (3f More Than Ready – Reflected Image by Bluebird) has the LR Belgravia Stakes (1200m) as her immediate goal at Ascot on October 17.
“It was a huge effort,” jockey William Pike said. “We were a mile out of our ground and right on the outside but she kept coming to the line. She’s a nice horse.”
Peters and his wife Sandra had already bred the More Than Ready stakes winners New Image (LR Belmont Oaks) and Ideal Image (LR Burgess Queen Stakes) from Reflected Image. The mare won the G2 WA Oaks in 1999 carrying their cerise and white silks.
The Perth couple have been a major supporters of More Than Ready winning the 2011 WA Oaks – Derby double with Dreamaway and last year’s LR Bolton Sprint with Celebrity Miss.
